Flattened Rice Mixture / Poha Mixture / Aval Mixture


Ingredients:

Poha / Flattened rice     -  1 Cup
Green Chilli, slited – 2 nos        2
Peanuts - 4 tbsp
Roasted dal/ channa dal - 4 tbsp
Sugar – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds – ¼  tsp
Dry coconut, sliced - 1 tbsp
Curry leaves – few
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Oil – 1 tbsp

Method:


In a pan, roast the poha, with 1 tsp of oil (use thin poha) till it turns golden brown(be careful not to burn it). Keep it aside. In the same pan add oil and add mustard seeds slit green chilies and fry for a minute  Powder the sugar in a mortar and pestle. Now add the roasted gram, peanuts, powdered sugar and salt to the pan.  When the peanuts and dal turns golden brown switch off the flame and mix it to the roasted poha. Mix this well ensuring all the poha gets coated well with the masala. Store this in an airtight container. Enjoy this with hot tea or coffee.
